How do I enrol and pay my fees?
Enrolling on our courses takes four easy steps.
1 Either Contact Us Directly by Phoning 0800 22 78 36 or apply for the course that you would like to do online.
2 We will arrange a convenient appointment time to come in to either Auckland or Wellington Campus for an interview and to begin the enrolment process.
3 Once you have completed an enrolment interview, completed the enrolment forms and met the entry requirements you can be accepted on to your course.
4 If you want to pay for your course fees with a Student Loan, you can, at that this stage, apply to Study Link to arrange your student loan
What options do I have for paying for my course?
There are several ways in which you can pay for your course. By student loan, cash, cheque, or electronic bank transfer.

Yes, You can download an application form on the Enrolment page of this website.
Am I eligible for a student loan?
If you are a New Zealand citizen or resident you will be eligible for a student loan.
How do I apply for a student loan to pay for my course?
Student loans are arranged by a government department called Study Link. Once you have enrolled on your chosen course, contact Study Link directly on 0800 88 99 00, or visit their web site http://www.studylink.govt.nz During your interview and enrolment our Administration team are happy to help you fill out your student loan forms and assist you in arranging a student loan for you.
What are the entry requirements?
You must be over 18 years of age, and depending on your educational background you may need to sit a short literacy and numeracy test.
What are the English language entry requirements?
An IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent is required for students who do not speak English as a first language.
What happens if I decided to withdraw from my course?
A refund of course fees will be available with a written withdrawal letter, up to seven days after the first day of course commencement. An administration fee of either 10% of your course fess or $500, whichever is lesser, will be charged. After this time has elapsed no refund will be provided.
Am I allowed to work while I study?
Yes. We encourage you to work while you study. We are able to assist you in find paid work experience whilst you are on the course. The benefit of this is not only do you get practical on-the-job work experience, but of course the money that you will earn is very helpful in covering your living expenses.
What will I learn when I start my course?
Much of the first week of your course is induction. During this time you will learn about The Professional Bar and Restaurant School its rules and regulations, as well as helpful information on how to get the most out of your time studying with us.
Who can I contact if have problems while I’m studying?
We have specialised Student Advisors who are there to help our students. You will be introduced to them at the beginning of your course.
Are the fees that I have paid protected?
Students pay their tuition fees and/or their accommodation and living expenses straight to their own Public Trust, Student Fee protect account (which is opened at the time of enrolment and acceptance). Public Trust hold the tuition fees in trust on your behalf. The Fee Protect system then calculates fee payments and pays them to The Professional Bar and Restaurant School according to an agreed payment schedule (Outlined in the original application).
What happens to my fees if The Professional Bar and Restaurant School is unable to deliver my tuition?
In the highly unlikely event that The Professional Bar and Restaurant School is unable to deliver training for whatever reason, your fees are protected by the Public Trust. This ensures that the unused portion of the fees can be refunded to you.
Do I have to inform you if I change my address?
Yes. You must inform us of any changes of address and contact details, including your residential address.
What should I do if I have a complaint?
The first step is to see your Student Advisor, they will discuss the problem with you. They will also tell you how the complaint procedure works. During your induction at the beginning of your course you will be given more information about the complaint resolution process.
